binaakwe-giizis 2011

binaakwii-giizis Falling Leaves Moon – October 2011 Meeting together for one day students continued studying the health of our watershed. Using the skills taught and practiced by RiverWatch students completed a number of tests including testing for chemical levels, oxygen levels, and counting “critters”. We continue to be vigilant in our observations and studies in light of the sulfide mining proposals which would directly affect the wild rice grown in Fond du Lac and the water in Lake Superior.

We continued to study the affects of invasive species through a number of hands on games and activities.
