gashkadino-giizis (November-Freezing Over Moon) continued to focus on the study of climate change as it related to biomes. Students learned the landscape, animals, weather (over 30 years) for each biome. Teams prepared presentations to the larger group describing each biome. Animals, land forms and plants were named in Ojibwe language.
Drawings of the different biomes were completed and shared.
The team challenge “Saving Bob” was particularly fun for participants. Students had to “save the gummy worm” without using their hands – only tools. Students worked together very well and learned about communicating.
